As I mentioned earlier I’m experimenting with trying to make something interesting and tasty for Christmas lunch for myself and my son James – we are both vegetarians. So far I’ve tried two recipes and they have been very helpful learning exercises. I’ll have a go at a third attempt in the next day or so but now is the time, I think, to start thinking about incorporating my own ideas. For example all the recipes I have recommend cutting up the chestnuts but I think I’ll try leaving them in whole to give the meal more texture. I’m also trying out new recipes for pastry, my next pie will feature ‘Hot Water Pastry’. I’m really enjoying cooking and producing healthy meals with pure ingredients. No added sugar or E-numbers in my home cooking. Such Fun.
